Testing, Testing….1,2 Xanax

I have reached out to my doctors for some guidance on how to deal with my severe claustrophobia while I’ll be hog-tied next week for the stereotactic radiosurgery. The consensus is that I should take 1 mg of Xanax 15 minutes before the treatment. I asked if I could hook up my cpap machine during the treatment and then if I dozed off, all the better. That got shot down, so I’m on my own. I’m worried about dozing off without the cpap and having a coughing spasm. That would be disastrous, I would imagine, with radiation shooting at me.

I’m going to take a 1 mg dose some time this weekend just before bedtime to see if it will relax me enough to get me through the hour-long procedure. I’d like to try to simulate the situation if I could, to see if the Xanax is working. I guess I’ll have to get Jill to tie me up with something. Hmm, this just might be fun. I’ll let you know how this turns out. I’ll leave out the good parts.
