Evening Kitchen

Grooveshark Song Link: Evening Kitchen by Band Of Horses
This is a perfect song for a perfect day. Family in every bedroom of the house and in the barn apartment. We’re up early drinking coffee and sitting around the kitchen laughing and telling stories. Some that are new and others that are still funny after hearing them dozens of times over the years.
My nephew’s significant other, sweet Sally, is here for her first of our family Christmases and she’s getting an ear full. She lives in Asheville, NC and she has promised to help me check off a bucket list item. I’m making plans to spend an intoxicated Friday night participating in the infamous Asheville drum circle. I’m waiting for warmer weather.
We’re having a nice, easy morning in the kitchen with people we love and we’re anticipating an afternoon of raucous Dirty Santa antics. Our holidays are so easy. No big fancy things, just comfortable events, comfort food, easy talk and hugs. Lots of laughter and smiles. This song makes me think of times like these.
I hope your holidays are like this too. I’m praying today for all the people in the world who won’t have a day like mine.

Richard, thanks for the note. I wish you and Carter peace, too, and and easier time of getting around for her. Please tell her I said hello. And, I’d love to see you in that nurse outfit.

Mike, I just read your blog about John Henry and I was so touched. I do find the cosmic order of the universe ever fascinating – the way things happen at a certain time to certain people. Sometimes the reason is revealed and other times not. Or perhaps we are just to blind to see.

You, my friend, are not at all blind. Not only do you see, but you give all of us the gift of sharing your thoughts, philosophies, your triumphs, and failures. I am amazed at how honest you can be in your writings and I thank you for that. I learn quite a bit from you.

And you are NOT a fat ass!! (At least not that I can see). We all get a bit of flesh added on during our decades, but I hear Photoshop can take care of that.

A very Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Hey, Mike, I feel that I have been out of touch for a few weeks and I’m checking back in. Had to make a trip to Missouri to see Carole graduate from her first Army school and bring her home for the holidays. Had 3 of my 4 girls with me for Christmas. I am blessed. Enjoy your holidays, your family and your friends. Love you, Marilyn
